Designated a park in 1864 during the original platting of the city, Forest Park became famous for the Chautauqua Assemblies it held in the late 1800s until 1914. The park now offers swimming at the outdoor community pool, baseball fields, tennis courts, picnic shelters, play equipment and more. This park is home each year in September, on consecutive weekends Forest Park hosts the Power of the Past Antique Engine & Tractor Show and the Ol Marais River Run Car Show the three largest events in Ottawa.
